Here are four (4) common skin types and basic ways to manage them:
1. DRY SKIN
- Dry skin often feels tight and may have fine lines;
- The pores are smaller but the skin is dry and rough to the touch.
Focus: To increase moisture and to rehydrate in order to reduce wrinkles and peeling.
2. NORMAL SKIN
- Normal skin looks smooth, fine and has a healthy skin tone;
- The texture of the skin is fine and pores are not visible.
Focus: To maintain a balance of moisture so skin remains healthy.
3. OILY SKIN
- The characteristics of oily skin are obvious; pores are larger and skin appears shiny;
- Excess oil causes blocked pores and acne.
Focus: To control the production of sebum and to unblock pores from dirt and excess oil.
4. COMBINATION SKIN
- This skin type is fairly common;
- The skin is fairly normal except for the T-zone which is oily while other areas of face is dry or normal.
Focus: To keep the skin healthy and balanced by hydrating the dry areas and controlling the oilier areas.
